Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 23 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Agreement") govern your use of the CC Ride mobile application ("App") — as a passenger, driver, or member of a participating organisation ("CC Ride", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, you agree to this Agreement. If you don't agree, don't register or use the App.
1. What CC Ride is
CC Ride is a technology platform that connects passengers with drivers for shared and pooled rides, including corporate fleet/pool vehicles made available by a participating organisation. CC Ride is not a transport carrier — we don't own vehicles (other than any owned by participating organisations) and don't employ drivers who use their own vehicles. Drivers using their own vehicles are independent, and corporate pool drivers are the participating organisation's own personnel or contracted drivers.
2. Eligibility & account registration
- You must be at least 18 years old to register.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- Drivers and corporate employees must complete identity verification — exactly one of NIN or passport number, plus (for drivers) a valid driver's licence and vehicle documents — before being approved to carry passengers.
- One account per person. Sharing your login or letting someone else use your account is not permitted.
- Corporate/pool accounts are provisioned by your organisation's admin and may be deactivated by them at any time.
3. Booking & taking rides
- Fares are shown before you confirm a booking — the price you see is the price you pay, before any applicable coupon.
- Pickup and drop-off are confirmed by a one-time code (OTP) shared between passenger and driver.
- Corporate pool vehicles are only visible and bookable by employees of the owning organisation, or a partner organisation it has explicitly agreed to share pool access with.
- Either party may cancel a ride before it starts; repeated late cancellations may affect your account standing.
- You're responsible for your own conduct and safety during a ride, and for complying with the driver's or passenger's reasonable requests (seatbelt use, no smoking, etc.).
4. Payments, wallet & earnings
- Payments are processed through third-party payment gateways (currently Paystack and Flutterwave). CC Ride does not store your full card details.
- Your in-app wallet can be funded and used to pay for rides; balances are shown in Nigerian Naira (₦).
- Drivers earn per completed trip, minus any applicable platform commission, and can request a payout to a linked bank account.
- Coupons and referral credits are subject to their own stated terms and may be withdrawn or adjusted if used fraudulently.
- Corporate-billed rides are invoiced to the participating organisation according to its agreement with CC Ride, not charged directly to the employee.
5. Driver requirements & conduct
- Drivers must hold a valid driving licence, maintain a roadworthy, appropriately documented vehicle, and comply with all applicable traffic laws.
- Drivers must not carry passengers under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or engage in reckless, unsafe, or discourteous conduct.
- CC Ride may suspend or deactivate a driver account for safety complaints, low ratings, failed verification, or violation of this Agreement, with or without notice where safety is at risk.
6. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Provide false identity, vehicle, or payment information
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including transporting prohibited goods
- Attempt to circumvent the platform (e.g. arranging payment outside the App to avoid fees) where prohibited by your organisation's policy or this Agreement
- Interfere with the App's normal operation, including through automated tools, reverse engineering, or unauthorised access attempts
7. Ratings & safety
Passengers and drivers rate each other after each trip. Ratings and safety reports may be used to restrict, suspend, or remove access to the platform. Every driver's identity is verified against government ID before approval, and every trip is OTP-confirmed and logged — see our Privacy Policy for how this data is retained.
8. Account suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of this Agreement, fraudulent activity, safety concerns, or at your request. You may delete your account at any time — see Delete Account & Data for how, and what happens to your data afterwards.
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The App is provided "as is." CC Ride facilitates connections between passengers and drivers but is not responsible for the acts or omissions of independent drivers or passengers during a ride. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CC Ride's liability for any claim arising from your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid CC Ride (if any) in the six months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement from time to time; continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be notified in-app where practicable.
11. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
